Is ZoomText® 11 Compatible with Windows® 10 Creators Update?

Windows 10 Creators Update

The latest versions of ZoomText 11 (11.2 and later) are compatible with the Windows 10 Creators Update.

Installing Windows Creators Update when ZoomText 11 is installed:

To check your exact version of ZoomText, open the ZoomText user interface (UI) and select ZoomText > About ZoomText. If the version is 11.2 or later, the Windows Creators Update can be installed.


During the Windows 10 Creators update process, a “What needs your attention” message may appear. If it lists ZoomText 11 and advises to “Uninstall this app now because it isn't compatible with Windows 10”, there is really no need to uninstall ZoomText 11. But it is necessary to update your ZoomText 11 (to 11.2 or greater) as follows:


  1. Start ZoomText 11.
  2. On the ZoomText UI, choose ZoomText (menu) > Manage License > Check for Updates.
  3. Follow the prompts in the update wizard to update ZoomText.
  4. Restart your system.
  5. Proceed with the Windows 10 Creators Update.

If you can’t install ZoomText 11 on Windows 10 due to the Creators Update


If your system is already running Windows 10 Creators Update, an attempt to install ZoomText 11 (prior to version 11.2), will result in the following error: “This app can’t run on this PC. ZoomText doesn’t work on this version of Windows. An updated app may be available.”


Download and install the latest version of ZoomText 11 as follows:

  1. Go to
  2. In the table for ZoomText v11 Updates, choose the download link for your license type.
  3. Once the download is complete, open the file to launch the ZoomText 11 setup program.
  4. Follow the prompts in the setup program to complete the installation.
  5. Restart your system.
