Black Screen in Google Chrome 50.xx and ZoomText 10.1.x

The information in this article applies to:

ZoomText 10.1.x or ZoomText 10.11.x

Google Chrome 50.x

Windows 10

 

PROBLEM

Starting Google Chrome with ZoomText running Chrome will display a black screen.

 

SOLUTION:

This issue can be resolved by disabling the hardware acceleration option in Google Chrome.

1. Close ZoomText 

2. Open Google Chrome

3. In the address Bar type in chrome://settings/

4. Scroll down and Click on the link: Show Advanced Settings.

5.Scroll to the bottom and go to the section: System.

6. Uncheck the box: Use hardware acceleration when available.

7. Close Chrome.

8. Start ZoomText

9. Start Chrome.
